A la derecha de la imagen, el borde amarronado de la ventana del transbordador Discovery (STS-119), a través de la cual se tomó la fotografía, parece trazar la falsa curvatura de la Tierra. La imagen fue tomada el 25 de marzo, cuando el transbordador se separaba de la estación. Tres días más tarde, el Discovery aterrizó en Cabo Cañaveral, dando por finalizada la misión STS-119 de la flota de transbordadores y cumpliendo con los objetivos previstos.
